Laka's Garden
Laka's Garden is located on Hale O Nanakai's first floor and takes up the front half of the house -- overlooking beautiful tropical trees, flowers and plants in the B&B's neatly manicured garden. Laka's Garden is a self contained, separate entity in the Hale O Nanakai layout with its own private entrance.
With decor reminiscent of the sugar-era Hawaiian Plantation Days,
from the quaint tin ceiling to the brilliant handmade Hawaiian print quilts and cushion covers, Laka's Garden can sleep up to four people in it's spacious two rooms and one bathroom, where a Queen sized bed is located in the inner chamber and a full-sized convertible sofa bed is available in the "parlor" or living room of the unit.
The two rooms are separated by a heavy partition to ensure privacy and quiet. Laka's Garden also features a full kitchen -- stove with oven, refrigerator, and microwave -- and is fully supplied with pots, pans, and utensils.
The distant ocean is visible from every room in Laka's garden except the bathroom. Laka's Garden is artfully decorated with hula
implements, bamboo and island quilts and prints. Amenities include cable HDTV, WiFi and free local and long distance (US and Canada) phone service.
Because of its privacy and family style set up, Laka's Garden is not considered to be part of the traditional B&B, meaning only that a generous Welcome
Basket is supplied in leiu of daily continental breakfast. The Welcome Basket includes fresh, locally grown seasonal fruits, locally made jams, coffee, cookies, macadamia nuts, coconut water or Hawaiian iced tea and other Kauai products.
$140 - $150/night for two
$160 - $170/night for three
$180 - $190/night for four
Includes a generous welcome basket in place of breakfast. There is a one-time $65 cleaning fee.
Laka's Garden is available for a minimum stay of three nights and is wheel chair accessible.
