A 'kahili' is a Hawaiian symbol of royalty. It is a feathered standard, made from the feathers of Kauai's native forest birds, which was used on ceremonial occasions. Kahili Mountain on Kauai overlooks Kalaheo at an elevation of 1398 feet and is accessible for hiking.
